Teaching Competencies Workshop: enhances teachers’ and institution’s performance. A facilitator explains how skill, knowledge and behaviour combine into competency, beside functional, managerial, behavioural and linguistic competencies.

Teacher competency assessment

Know your teaching competencies. Grow them with purpose.

Teach the Teacher shows where you stand in each teaching competency, across five levels from Basic to Outstanding, and gives you a clear path to grow, with coaching when you want it.

  • Scenario-based questions drawn from real classrooms
  • Results for every competency, not a single mark
  • Report and certificate you can download
  • One-to-one or group coaching, online or in Hyderabad

Why it matters

From unknowingly efficient to knowingly efficient

Good teachers do many things well without naming them. When you can see your competencies clearly, you can repeat what works, strengthen what doesn’t and plan your growth with intent.

“If you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it.”

What a competency is

Skill + Knowledge + Behaviour

A competency is the combination of all three. Think of a driver: knowing the accelerator, brake and clutch is knowledge; steering and changing gears is skill; and how they drive, rash or safe, is behaviour.

Skill
What you can do in the classroom
Knowledge
What you know about your subject and teaching
Behaviour
How you act with students, every day
Skill, knowledge and behaviour combine into competency

Five levels

Every competency, five levels of practice

Competency levels are degrees of variation in a competency. Every teacher asks students questions, but to what extent? Here is Probing, one of the competencies, described at each level.

  1. Level 1BasicAsks question to the student whenever there is noise in the class in order to bring the class to the attention.
  2. Level 2AverageAsks the open ended and closed ended questioning system in the middle of the class
  3. Level 3Above AverageFrames the questions in advance and applies the questions at an appropriate time
  4. Level 4GoodFrames the questions for all frequently asked doubts and clarify doubts through "Reflection" technique with the help of probing tool.
  5. Level 5OutstandingFrames the questions on real time applications and clarify the doubts thru "reflection" technique with the help of probing tool

Managerial competencies

The knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes a manager needs to be effective across a wide range of roles and settings.

Linguistic competencies

The knowledge of language that lets a speaker use and understand it well, in the classroom and beyond.

Questions

What teachers ask us

Is this a pass or fail test?

No. Teach the Teacher shows where you stand in each competency, from Basic to Outstanding, so you can see what to build on and what to develop next. It is a development tool, not an examination.

What kind of questions will I answer?

Each question describes a real classroom situation and offers five possible responses. You choose the one you would most likely do. Each response reflects a different level of teaching practice.

How many competencies are assessed?

That depends on your package. Silver covers about 10 competencies, Gold about 12 and Platinum about 14. You will see the exact list and the number of questions before you start.

Does my teaching experience affect my score?

No. Your experience helps decide the mix of questions you receive, so the assessment suits your career stage. Your result depends only on your responses.

Ready to see your teaching clearly?

Take the assessment on your own, or bring your whole school along.
